Groic: Redefining Music

Groic is a concept redesign exploring how social audio and music discovery can merge into a seamless, community-driven experience. This project reimagines the app’s visual identity, interactions, and usability for a cleaner and more immersive listening journey.

Overview:

Groic is a social music app where users can explore trending tracks, create shared listening rooms, and connect through sound.
This redesign focuses on improving discoverability, hierarchy, and community engagement while maintaining the app’s bold and energetic personality.

Problem:

The original design lacked hierarchy and visual rhythm, making exploration feel cluttered.
Typography and spacing didn’t balance well with the vibrant color scheme, and user flow between “Rooms,” “Profile,” and “Pro” pages felt disconnected.

Objective:

The goal was to simplify the user journey while enhancing visual depth and motion.

  • Make “Listen Together” the hero interaction

  • Create a unified dark theme with neon green accents

  • Design intuitive cards that clearly show user activity

  • Strengthen the premium (Pro) experience

Design Direction:

Color Palette: Black-to-green gradients inspired by stage lighting and sound waves.
Typography: Rounded, bold, and modern typefaces for youthful energy.
UI Elements: Glassmorphism with subtle blur to reflect the mood of digital nightlife.
Iconography: Minimal line icons for clarity and recognizability.

Screens Breakdown:

  1. Home / Feed: Prioritizes shared listening and trending rooms with a cleaner, scroll-friendly layout.

  2. Groic Rooms: Simplified card-based layout to visualize who’s online and what’s playing in real time.

  3. Profile: Emphasizes user connections, showing mutual friends and quick interaction access.

  4. Groic Pro: Redesigned subscription page with clear plan comparison and a glowing highlight for the active tier.

Outcome:

The new concept gives Groic a stronger sense of identity and focus.
It feels cohesive, interactive, and immersive, designed for the next generation of music lovers who listen together, not alone.

This design is currently under discussion with the Groic team for potential implementation.
